Richard LaPlante, MD is board certified in psychiatry and neurology specializing
in adult and senior adult psychiatry.
Dr. LaPlante received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical
Branch. He continued with a psychiatric residency at Emory University and
completed his medical training at Wesley Woods Geriatric Hospital with a
fellowship in geriatric psychiatry. Dr. LaPlante is a member of the American
Association for Geriatric Psychiatry, American Psychiatric Association, Georgia
Psychiatric Physicians Association and the American Medical Association.
Prior to arriving at Peachford Hospital, Dr. LaPlante was in private practice at
the Anxiety Disorders Institute and served as an attending physician and
instructor of psychiatry at Wesley Woods Geriatric Hospital.
