Geriatric Service Director

Dr. Figiel is responsible for the clinical supervision of the Senior Adult Psychiatric Services at Peachford Behavioral Health System and serves as one of our Electroconvulsive Treatment physicians.

Dr. Figiel received his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine and completed his training with an internship, residency and neuropsychiatry/ECT fellowship at Duke University.

Dr. Figiel has served as the Director of the Mood Disorders Center at Eastside Medical Center, Director of the Mood Disorders Program and Director of ECT at Wesley Woods Geriatric Hospital. He is board certified in adult, geriatric psychiatry as well as forensic medicine. 

Dr. Figiel is a member of the American Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association, American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry, American Association of Neuropsychiatry and Southern Medical Association. He is actively involved in research and has written many publications.
