Getting
here...
Individuals
may be referred to any of Peachford’s programs by a general
practitioner, psychiatrist, psychologist, or other mental health
professional either in private practice or associated with other
hospitals.
Inquiries can also be made by family members or patients themselves
by calling 1-770-455-3200. Following an assessment, admission is
then made by a Peachford admitting physician.
Programs
are offered on various schedules, including days, evenings, weekends
and combinations of these. The programs are of varying durations,
and because some are used as a transitional step between an initial
crisis and/or reentry into daily living activities, a patient may
be phased into more brief duration of treatment than normal, depending
on the need.
The
Family Plays a Big Part
At
Peachford, family involvement is a vital part of our treatment process.
Because the patient returns home frequently, it is important that
family members become actively involved in the therapeutic process.
Our
counselors and staff educate family members on the patient’s
treatment goals and needs. Just as importantly, our counselors assist
family members in working through their own feelings about the process.
